How did Stone Age people find their way in the dark, or in caves when they went to create their cave paintings? With Stone Age lamps of course. Small lamps, just like the real thing, will be made using clay. Plant oil and wicks are then added.
The workshop begins with a journey of discovery into Stone Age cave art. You will be shown how people made fire with stones. In the practical part that follows, you will mould your lamp from clay, fat and a wick, which you can take home with you. As the lamps still have to dry, we recommend that you bring a large vegetable crate with you. This will make it easier for you to transport them back.
The workshop is also offered in English and French for a small surcharge.
