Get the free audio guide directly on your smartphone so that you can use your own headphones in the museum. This saves you waiting times at the audio stations and protects the environment. Of course, the app also contains lots of other useful information about the museum.
Neanderthals were discovered at the site just a few hundred metres from the museum. Travel back to the Stone Age on the Höhlenblick adventure tower. The climbing tunnel at a height of 20 metres is particularly exciting - and not just for children.
If you're still not tired of the many hands-on stations in the museum, then head for Europe's largest Stone Age playground. It is located directly opposite the Neanderthal Museum and makes children's dreams come true. Parents can relax in the picnic area.

When you think of Neanderthals, do you also think of muscle-bound men hunting mammoths? Time to change this image! In ‘Stereotypes Neanderthal woman’, we provocatively question our current ideas about prehistoric Neanderthal communities and do away with old clichés and role models.
Germany's first baby bar is located in the basement of the museum. Here you will find a bottle warmer and kettle for heating baby food. A nappy-changing room is right next door. You can borrow free of charge:
A perfect museum excursion also includes at least one good cup of coffee. The museum café also serves savoury sandwiches, cakes and snacks. A special highlight: the view of the wonderful Neandertal valley from the roof terrace.
