Content

A spectacular discovery was made – bones were found! The archaeologists start their investigations. What can the bones tell us about the age, the body height, the biological sex and the health condition of the person? You will make very interesting observations during your forensic investigation on human skeletal reconstructions.

Procedure

In an introductory talk, you will be given specific observation criteria and an introduction to the specialist terminology. You will then work independently at 10 stations, record the skeletal finds, determine the sex of the pelvis and skull, the age of the teeth and epiphyses and the body height of the long bones and record these on a findings sheet. In a final round, you will briefly present the results of your work and the examination methods used in the plenary session. No prior knowledge is required. The workshop is also offered in English for a small surcharge.
