A spectacular discovery was made – bones were found! The archaeologists start their investigations. What can the bones tell us about the age, height, biological sex, and health of the person? You will make very interesting observations during your forensic investigation of the human remains.
In an introductory talk, you will be given specific observation criteria and an introduction to the specialist terminology. You will then work independently at 10 stations, recording all your skeletal finds. You will learn to determine the individual’s sex by their pelvis and skull, age by their teeth and epiphyses, and height by the length of their bones. In a final round, you will briefly present the results of your work and the examination methods used in the plenary session. No prior knowledge is required. The workshop is also offered in English for a small surcharge.
